Mrs. Brinton went on the Glencoe to St. John's, Thursday, where she will reside for the future. She had a message from Jake saying he was not very well so off she started; but she intended going later on. Critchel has her place, the house, etc.

When I was to St. John's last fall, I bought a winter's coat $7.50, dark fawn, or exactly the shade of that one Sam Joe brought me from Sydney. It hangs loose at the back with stitchings. A very heavy coat. I also had a wine coloured skirt and white silk for a blouse. I have the blouse nearly worn out. It was made with six or seven rows of shirring for a yolk and two thin narrow tucks just above the waist & a box plait of wide insertion from the yolk to the waist.

Mother has a very nice bonnet, coronet shaped. It is more like a hat than a bonnet, very pretty. You know my raglan, mother wasted a can of paint over it, I really can't wear [it] anymore, especially on Sundays; but says for me to cut it off for her. I ordered another last week. Violet did me a hat this winter. You know that green plush one of mine, well I ripped it up & sent the plush to Violet to do me another which she did. It was made sailor shape with
