Additional Information Jessie Luther is considered the founder of the Industrial Department of the Grenfell Mission, a program which encouraged the production of handicrafts. A pioneer in occupational therapy, she initially promoted arts and crafts training among hospital patients; the initiative was broadened into a scheme to supplement family incomes. Her efforts to initiate the manufacture of pottery are documented in her diary, MG 169 at The Rooms Provincial Archives, (Gendron collection of Jessie Luther materials)
