The auction of James Reeves effects lasted for three days and the account of the sale took up four pages of the Log, though a more concise list of his possessions exists on page 17. His effects included such delights as "fancy" trousers, an umbrella, 5 cases (606 lbs) of tobacco, 3 cases (154 lbs)vi of cheese, 2 sides (54 lbs) of bacon, and 25 (384 lbs) York hams.
