Biography/Admin History: The auxiliary two-masted schooner "Jessie Goldthwait" was built in Essex, Massachusetts by Arthur D. Story. She was given to the Grenfell Mission by Dr. Joel E. Goldthwait in 1932. The vessel was named after his wife who died before the vessel was finished construction.
Custodial History: The photographs were owned by John Scranton. His daughter, Sheila Childs donated the photographs to the MHA in 2010.
