Makes reference to the following Newfoundland communities and areas: Placentia, Harbour Grace, North Arm, Conception Harbour, Holyrood, Witless Bay Line, St. Mary's, Catalina and Carbonear. Most entries refer to wind and weather, but there are also entries regarding the election in the Placentia district, railway workers, caplin and squid fishing, Regatta Day, train accidents, deaths and a hurricane in November. Vessels mentioned are the S.S. "Bruce", schooner "Sophia" and schooner "Jubilee".
