Tell Bish we are going to have a Guild Sociable to morrow night in the Guild Room. We joined Lizzy Holmans & Miss Grouchy last meeting. We balloted for them the meeting before and they were elected, so we initiated them last meeting. I only wish you had been there. What stamping & clapping when they are elected; but so dismal when they are black balled.
To this Sociable we are going to ask the old men of Belleoram, whom we think had not much enjoyment Xmas. The choir boys are also opening with us. There will be such a crowd, we won't have room enough to turn round.
The other night after joining those two, we had games until ten o'clock. It was just grand.
Little Ida has a mind to join; but she can't come to the point of joining. I just love to be balloting for them. My nerves are strung to their utmost, as we can't tell whether they are elected or not until everyone has finished her portion of work required for the occasion. --Saturday night [May 9]
