"Seamans leans against what is left of the USS Truxtun, on the beach at Chambers Cove in 1964, 22 years after his terrible ordeal. The dark shadow behind him is the recess where the survivors had to huddle at the peak of the tide."

"James O. Seamans [USS Truxtun survivor], revisited St. Lawrence in 1964. He posed beneath the flag of the Truxtun, which was salvaged from the wreck by a Newfoundlander and later framed and hung in the lobby of the St. Lawrence Hospital built by the U.S. Government."
