Robert Lefette Isbell, born in 1922, son of Melvin Franklin Isbell and Etta Isbell, was from Sylacauga, Alabama. He had an older sister, Maggalene, and two younger brothers, Avis and Carlton. He was an Apprentice Seaman with the United States Naval Reserve, and served on USS Pollux when it wrecked off Newfoundland 18 February 1942. He is buried at the Marble City Cemetery at Sylacauga.
