Thaddeus Joseph Sujka, son of Roman Joesph Sujka and Jennie Boniecki, was born 10 Spetember 1923 in Chigaco, Illinois. He had an older sister, Irene. He enlisted in the United States Navy 25 July 1941 and served on USS Truxtun until it wrecked 18 February 1942 off Newfoundland. He survived and continued to serve in the Navy aboard USS Jenkins (1942-1943), USS Belleau Wood (1944), USS Sitkoh Bay (1944), and USS Franklin D Roosevelt (1945-1947). He later married Mary Jo Anne Hennen on 25 January 1951 and had a daughter, Debra-Jo. He died 28 January 1968 at the San Fernando V.A. Hospital in San Fernando, California. He was given a military funeral where his ashes were scattered from a US Naval ship off San Diego.
