Lieut. James Walker Danforth, Lieut. James Ross Gillie and Ens. William John Maddocks, October 1941, on the deck of the USS Truxtun at Argentia. "Danforth and Gillie both lost their lives on the Truxtun on 18 February 1942. Maddocks survived."

"During the summer of 1941 Gus Tortorici (left rear), Larry Calemmo (left front) and Bill Heldt (right front) enjoy the sights of Bermuda." Tortorici, Calemmo and Heldt all survived the loss of the Pollux. The fourth seaman is unidentified.
